I have been serving with TLC since March 2013. Coming from a difficult childhood I was lost. I found love with my now husband, got pregnant with our first daughter at 15, and was immediately kicked out.
Having to figure things out, I have a strong bond with teenage moms, I understand the shame, embarrassment, and all the feelings we’re ill-equipped to feel at that age.
This ministry is near and dear to my heart because God has placed this purpose and calling on my life. I want to be a positive influence in these young ladies’ lives and speak life, love, and light into their situations and I’m thankful for the opportunity to have TLC as the vessel to minister to this community.
I serve in this ministry for two reasons:
1. I know what God has done for me over the years and He can do the same for these girls. I want to be
a blessing in their lives to help them navigate this life and help lead them to Christ.
2. This is the type of ministry I wish I had when I was 16 and pregnant, becoming a mom at 17.
I’m a 27-year-old single momma from Brookshire. My hobbies include reading, writing, and singing! I was brought to TLC this past year after I had my son. I wanted to look for something to get involved with
that had ladies in a similar situation as myself. After my first meeting, I realized I wanted to do everything in my power to help these young mommas thrive and find any type of resources that would help them out as well. I’m super excited to see what the future holds with TLC.
I’m a God loving, Jesus following Mom to 4 and Nonnie to 6. Life has given me many learning opportunities including being in foster care and having my son in my senior year of high school. God has always walked alongside me and my mission in life is to show others how God loves us unconditionally. Being able to come alongside the young Moms, children and sometimes Dads and teach them how Jesus loves them is what I was born to do. I’m so grateful to be here!
